The summer season is officially here, which means many people will be spending more time outdoors. Prevent mosquito bites: Mosquitoes are more than just an itchy nuisance – they can also spread diseases like West Nile virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends applying an insect repellant containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535 or oil of lemon eucalyptus when outdoors this summer. People should also cover up to prevent mosquito bites by wearing long sleeve shirts, long pants and socks.
