Our Skilled Nursing & Convalescent Center
Formerly known as Luther Woods Convalescent Center, our private, independently-owned skilled nursing center and rehabilitation facility was built in 1976. Founded to provide quality long-term care for the elderly, our philosophy has evolved over time as more people wish to age at home. By establishing ourselves as a premier senior rehabilitation center, we strive to help our short-term residents achieve a quicker recovery from acute-care medical issues and our long-term residents maintain good health and an excellent quality of life.
Luther Woods is one of the few Philadelphia-area skilled nursing homes for patients whose lives have been dramatically altered by an accident or chronic illness. This type of long-term, complex medical care requires a truly dedicated staff, and we are very proud that many of our employees have been with us for decades, and that our turnover rate is one of the lowest in the Philadelphia region.
In addition, our private ownership allows us the flexibility to make on-the-spot decisions about the unique needs of our residents, and engenders a pride of ownership that manifests itself in our medical care, therapies, activities, decor, grounds, fine dining and ongoing enhancements.
In order to ensure our skilled nursing center provides the quality, compassionate care we endeavor to achieve every day, we regularly survey our residents or their family members on several medical and quality-of-life factors, and are proud to say we have consistently achieved nearly perfect ratings. In addition, we have had many residents decide to stay with us multiple times and we have even welcomed successive generations from the same family who have been impressed by the quality of complex medical care provided at Luther Woods.
